Old town and Venetian port: The most characteristic part of the area with a variety of tourist shops and taverns with traditional food.
The Kucuk Hassan Mosque or Yali Mosque: Dates to the second half of the 17th century. It was built in honor of the first guard of Chania, Kyuchuk Hassan and today, being restored, it is an event space.
Balos Lagoon: About 50 km from the center of Chania with wonderful view and clear blue waters.
Elafonisi Beach: Almost an hour and a half from Chania is one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, with waters so blue that reminiscent of the Caribbean.
War Shelter of Platania: A shelter used during World War II, just a 10-minute walk from the village of Platania, is open to the public to admire wartime images and weapons.
